This privacy policy is designed to reassure WLCC members that their personal information is treated with care, transparency, and respect. Its purpose is to clearly outline what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it—so members always know how their information is being used.
We are committed to keeping personal data private, limiting collection to what’s necessary for communication and program participation, and safeguarding all information through responsible storage and restricted access. This overview helps members understand their rights, our responsibilities, and the shared trust that makes our community safe, supportive, and professional.
Collection, use and disclosure of personal information
The World Language Coaching Collaborative collects only the personal information needed to support communication, participation, and program improvement. This may include your name, contact information, professional role, and any details you choose to share during registration or coaching activities. We use this information solely to provide services—such as sending updates, organizing sessions, and improving our offerings based on member needs.
We do not sell personal data or share it outside the organization without clear permission. Any disclosure is limited to essential operational purposes, such as secure technology platforms that help us deliver webinars or manage membership. All information is stored responsibly, accessed only by authorized individuals, and protected to maintain the trust and safety of our community.
In your own profile, you have the option to limit what information is available to others in our Member Directory. To edit that, after you have logged into the site, go to the orange person icon in the upper right. Click on EDIT PROFILE. then PRIVACY. From there, toggle on and off those things you want shown in the directory. Then save.
Giving consent for others
Members may occasionally need to provide consent on behalf of someone else—for example, when registering a colleague for a WLCC event or sharing student work samples during a coaching session. In these cases, it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that the individual whose information is being shared has clearly agreed to that use. Consent must be informed, voluntary, and specific to the purpose for which the information is provided.
WLCC will only accept third‑party information when the member confirms that proper consent has been obtained. We do not independently verify consent, but we rely on members to act ethically and transparently. Any personal data shared about others is protected with the same care, privacy safeguards, and limited‑use principles that apply to all WLCC information handling.
Third-parties applications
The World Language Coaching Collaborative uses third‑party applications only when they are essential for delivering services—such as hosting webinars, managing registrations, or supporting communication. These platforms may process limited personal information in order to function, but WLCC selects tools that prioritize security, reliability, and responsible data handling.
When your information passes through a third‑party application, it is still protected under our privacy commitments. We share only what is necessary for the specific task, and we do not permit third‑party services to use your data for their own marketing or unrelated purposes. Each application is reviewed for compliance with industry‑standard privacy and security practices, ensuring that your information remains safeguarded while allowing us to provide high‑quality, accessible programming for all members.
